the 7+ billion people in the world would all fit into Texas...said the guy on a YouTube video I watched yesterday.
Not sure if the people would all be standing up, but he 'measured' the area, 'measured' the people, and is certain they would all fit.

Texas is huge, and the USA is a gigantic nation, we can easily welcome our new immigrants who want to be Americans. And we have many shrinking cities such as Detroit where the immigrants are totally welcome. We do not need walls, and we do not need detention centers, we have plenty of room for everyone who wants to be an American.

Salute,

Progress is happening on the issue of helping the homeless...

---------

L.A. Still National Model for Getting People Into Housing, Despite California Having the Most Homeless People of Any State

POSTED 2:13 PM, AUGUST 1, 2019, BY LOS ANGELES TIMES

https://ktla.com/2019/08/01/l-a-still-national-model-for-getting-people-into-housing-despite-california-having-the-most-homeless-people-of-any-state/

--------

California needs to have HOSTELS like in Rome, Italy, where people can take a nice hot shower and where people can sleep in a nice comfortable bed for $15.00 per night. That would help the homeless immensely, including the people with jobs who have to live in their cars because they cannot afford rent, they can stay in a hostel until they find a place with roommates, or whatever. Having hostels would help people a lot.

And of course we can help the homeless addicts and alcoholics at camps in Acton, and in Lake Hughes, etc, they can get clean and sober and they can do 12 Step programs at the camps, N/A and A/A programs have saved many people.

Salute,

Tony V.

We need for a bunch of business women from the Philippines to come to California and to open HOSTELS in all of the major cities in California, offering a hot shower and a comfortable bed for $15.00 per night.

Salute,

Sounds good...but could they pay the rent/mortgage payments out of that money?
Cleaning expenses, electricity, water rates, council rates etc?
State/federal taxes?
etc.

We do that. Some of them are pretty good. I can personally recommend hostels in Philly, New Orleans, Austin, and Santa Fe. Vegas is a bit sketchy. I see them in San Diego, but haven’t tried any.

$20-30/night these days.

He must work for the detention department of CBP...

Several decades ago, a British author named John Brunner wrote a book called Stand on Zanzibar:
Quote
The title refers to an early twentieth-century claim that the world's population could fit onto the Isle of Wight—which has an area of 381 square kilometres (147 sq mi)—if they were all standing upright. Brunner remarked that the growing world population now required a larger island; the 3.5 billion people living in 1968 could stand together on the Isle of Man (area 572 square kilometres (221 sq mi)), while the 7 billion people who he (correctly) projected would be alive in 2010 would need to stand on Zanzibar (area 1,554 square kilometres (600 sq mi)).[4] Throughout the book, the image of the entire human race standing shoulder-to-shoulder on a small island is a metaphor for a crowded world.

Will Hurd is retiring from Congress. The last human being has left the republican party.

All that’s left is rats in cheap suits lying out of every side of their greedy holes.

Really sorry to hear that.   Can't say I blame him.

I’m not sorry. His district will most likely go blue. He narrowly one last time and he was most likely gonna be challenged from the right in a primary.

He called out Trump’s racism and xenophobia over his attack on the Squad and he voted with Democrats in rebuking Trump AND he asked Mueller about the Russian attack on the elections.

Republicans probably didn’t see him as their House Negro anymore and he probably didn’t see himself that way ever.
