Cuomo to be done in by the law he put in place?

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) has been accused of sexual harassment by a second former aide. Charlotte Bennett, who worked as a senior briefer and executive assistant in Cuomo's administration in 2019 and 2020, told The New York Times that Cuomo harassed her in June 2020, asking her questions about her personal life, including whether she thought age gaps mattered in relationships and if she ever had sex with with older men. The 25-year-old Bennett said the governor never tried to touch her, but she "absolutely" felt he was making an entreaty to a sexual relationship, which made her "horribly uncomfortable and scared."

From the NY pamphlet (bold and underlined font are mine):

Is a single incident of inappropriate sexual
behavior enough to be sexual harassment
and can I file a complaint?

Yes. Harassment does not need to be
repeated for you to file a claim; a single
incident can be sufficient. Harassment also
does not need to be severe or pervasive in
order for the employer to be liable. Contact
the
New York State Division of Human Rights to
file a complaint.

NY Law seems unusually harsh. A single incident can have many meanings to all involved, and there's a 3 year statute of limitations.

 https://dhr.ny.gov/sites/default/files/pdf/sexual-harassment.pdf

So, you could possibly say only, "That's a pretty blouse on you, today?" And 3 years later end up in court.

That's hardly Harvey Weinstein behavior, and seems to be an overcorrection.
Not really how sexual harassment works.

Works? Or is interpreted as being?

Explain your POV, counselor.
I have neither the time nor the inclination for any detailed.discussion on this, but in short for there to be actionable sexual harassment in the workplace you a nexus to a term and condition of work.  Paying a woman a compliment does not have that connection unless it makes the person subjectively uncomfortable AND it is pervasive enough that accepting the behavior becomes a term and condition of employment. One act can be sexual harassment: you only have to tell a woman directly or impliedly sleep with me or your fired once. Nice blouse once, alone, does not cut it.
So where does smelling her hair fit in?

My two scents: nowhere close to grabbing pussy.

I received a text an hour ago from Medstar Health telling me to check my email and find the link to schedule an appointment;

Twenty minutes later I had an appointment for 12:30 pm tomorrow at the Navy Yard facility.
Good news Larry. I’m starting to hear more and more of those stories. Maybe my June or July prediction for myself will prove a little pessimistic.

Got shot #1, yesterday. Hearing many more folks getting shot 1 and shot 2. Biden making it happen.

J & J shot to start soon. That should make Wall ST happy, too. Let's see what the market does on Monday.

Well, then so far what we are hearing from the women about Cuomo, does NOT sound like harassment. Then again, we don't know the entire story, as yet.

Nice of you to explain that. And it's "you're fired", btw.

Compliments depend so much on context and who the parties are in an office pecking order.  I remember a well-liked old guy where I worked,  years ago,  and we're in the elevator.  Picture Roger on Mad Men.    Someone looking like Margot Robbie enters,  dressed to the nines.   The old guy sighed,  looked at me,  and said,  "oh to be young again! "  Everyone in the elevator laughed including the young woman, and she gave the old guy a kind of thank-you nod.

Someone else could have made it leering or creepy.   Somehow,  from him,  it was sweet and nonthreatening and he made himself the butt of the joke.    The recipient of his sigh and remark took it as a compliment,  and a funny one.

It's my belief that we could have a society where that can still happen,  and most people can feel secure with gentle and respectful appreciation when they're looking good.   If men were taught how to do that when they are young, and when not to say anything (like with someone in a subordinate job position),  we might get back to a place where people don't feel their every utterance will be fine-tooth combed over for offense.

I remember a woman in my office remarking “ gee, you are looking sharp today!”
I replied “so on most days I dress like shit?”

So republican lawmakers using the Covid Heath emergency as an excuse skipped out on work to address the Covid Heath emergency so they could instead fly down to the superspreader event in Orlando to kiss the golden ass and pickup a new infection there to go along with everything else.

It seems like they are taking their cues from Roger Stone and his organ grinder.

At the Golden Globes.

"Oh to be young again! "
How can I, that girl standing there,

My attention fix

On Roman or on Russian

Or on Spanish politics,

Yet here's a travelled man that knows

What he talks about,

And there's a politician

That has both read and thought,

And maybe what they say is true

Of war and war's alarms,

But O that I were young again

And held her in my arms.

OK new conspiracy theory, the open border amnesty agenda is being pushed by real estate speculators. Here in Florida real estate values have jumped up dramatically since Biden was elected. Can hardly find a for sale sign in the lower end. Corporations are buying up communities. Drug dealers want their families to live a better life in Amerika. No more room for retirees in New Honduras.

The first Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine doses could reach vaccination sites as early as Tuesday, White House officials said on Sunday. About 3.9 million doses have been shipped, and 16 million more will be sent out by the end of March.

Biden White House, getting things done.

On Feb. 24, the center updated its account to reveal that “as of February 19, 2021, state lawmakers have carried over, prefiled, or introduced 253 bills with provisions that restrict voting access in 43 states.”

https://www.nytimes.com/2021/02/28/opinion/voter-suppression-us.html

This is the real war for democracy in the United States.  The narrative that all this effort is to protect the "sanctity" of the electoral process is deeply false.
