Apparently you're a bigger fan of potholes than I am.
There is no free lunch.
That is right: those pot holes aint going to fix themselves. That is why we need the gas tax revenue.

$100 check is straight campaign idiocy by the dems.

Let's assume for the sake of the discussion that you are right and it is nothing more than politicking.

What would make it idiocy in your humble opinion, Ward?

How does it compare to Gov. Kemp's income tax rebate in Georgia?
https://www.wtoc.com/2022/03/23/kemp-signs-bill-bringing-tax-refund-georgians/

Is that also "straight campaign idiocy," but by a GOP official? Or is that wisdom?
Rebating taxes is letting taxpayers keep their own money.
Writing checks by printing money we do not
 is not very smart.
Especially if the democrat goal is to reduce the amount of gasoline we burn

Your ability to reason is even weaker than your ability to use language.

You act as if the origin of the money is different between those two, but in both cases the money came from and would be going to the people.

You act as if the difference between the total fuel used with or without that payment is significant when it isn't - getting past a temporary situation that is difficult is a reasonable notion. I happen to think just waiting this one out would work as well in terms of the difficulty, but I shrug at this.

They are both transparent ploys seeking to buy votes and your inability to say so about Governor Kemp is just silly.

But the silliest part is your persisting in the "democrat" nonsense even when the grammatical faux excuse isn't close to valid. As in your final sentence in the post to which I am responding. Either "democrats' goal" if you are  discussing the group or "democratic goal" if you are using an adjective. And if you mean official policy, then "Democratic Party's goal" would be appropriate.

No charge for this grammar lesson.

Well maybe I spoke too soon.
She cannot define a woman
But she knows one when she sees one?
LOL!

Your grasp of science is pre-pubescent.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/life/health-wellness/2022/03/24/marsha-blackburn-asked-ketanji-jackson-define-woman-science/7152439001

Quote
Scientists, gender law scholars and philosophers of biology said Jackson's response was commendable, though perhaps misleading. It's useful, they say, that Jackson suggested science could help answer Blackburn's question, but they note that a competent biologist would not be able to offer a definitive answer either. Scientists agree there is no sufficient way to clearly define what makes someone a woman, and with billions of women on the planet, there is much variation.

So, genius, what's your definition of a woman?

And what answer could Jackson have given that would have been acceptable?

Practically any one other than the one she gave.

I especially like the closing remark from the article I linked:

Quote
"When Blackburn and the rest of her caucus support women's full reproductive justice, when they aggressively try to solve the inequality of investment in girls' and women's sports - still true 50 years after Title IX made it illegal - when they take meaningful action on the persistent wage discrimination against women, especially women of color, then maybe it will make sense to engage their questions about who can count as a woman."

Professor Rebecca Jordan-Young nailed it.

Not that Marsha Blackburn actually cares about this issue any more than Lindsey Graham actually cares about children or child pornography.

It is only about scoring points.

Typical.

You can not be serious.
In Georgia the taxpayers paid money to the government under tax law they agreed to.
The Government is refunding some of the taxpayers earned income to provide relief from high gasoline costs.

In the case of the democrat national lawmakers they are not refunding taxes, they will print money as a handout.
That money will add to the federal deficit which means eventually taxes will be raised to pay it back.

But she can not define a woman.

OMG

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/oklahoma-democrat-us-house-candidate-abby-broyles-campaign

This is a good person to not have in the House. Not so much her behavior, if it was in fact caused by a combination of sleeping pills and booze, but her inability to accept responsibility until forced to by evidence.

I suspect that had there not been evidence she would never have come clean.

Hopefully she will be able to teach her white Christian nationalist colleagues how the law is actually supposed to work in this country. It will be difficult as they are very dumb and highly committed to doing evil.
