Without the rate increasing, we are on a path to hit 178,000 deaths by October 1, only a few thousand
dead more than the current IHME model.
But we have 3 states whose ICUs are already at or past capacity.
We have an increasing rate of new cases.
The average daily number of deaths has continued to drop, but it looks like this:
-230, -127, -95, -47 (as of Tuesday).
