It's a weirdly passive-aggressive argument from Ward: I'm just posting some notes from a legal scholar, I'm not really forming a judgment or opinion of any kind...

Yeah, uh huh.
iIt was the opinion of an Constitutional Scholar who the democrats called as a witness to buttress their case for Impeaching Trump.

Uh huh.  And did he?

BTW:  You don't capitalize "impeach___" unless it begins a sentence.

MSNBC title, so capital letters are apropos.

Prior to the election in 2016 Don John Trump said the election was rigged.
That was a rare true statement from THE Donald.
How did Trump know the election was rigged?
Easy, he knew because he had asked his best friend in the whole wide world, Putin, to rig
the election for him.  Putin was more than happy to subvert any democracy's election.
Trump won a rigged election and was subsequently impreached for his actions.
Trump is on record asking a foreign government to interfere in our domestic affairs, i.e. Elections.
He deserved to be impreached and was.
Despite what and when the Senate takes its actions, Trump remains an impreached, un-duly elected fraud and con-man.

Exactly the opposite

Had Trump had anything to do with - any knowledge of ANYONE working to unlawfully benefit HIM in the election he'd have kept his mouth shut.

As you were, sir.

Just like he would not ask a foreign country to help him get elected in public.

Oh, wait...

Would never happen minus the overly aggressive tactics Dems have utilized.

And no - on its own far from impeachable conduct

What in the fuck are you talking about?

Scott Morrison: Bushfires have tested us but Australia will prevail

Tested by tragedy and destruction, our nation still stands strong against an eternal summer enemy but we will continue to act responsibly on climate change and avoid extreme responses, Prime Minister Scott Morrison writes.

And yes, we must continue to take real action on climate change. There is no disagreement and there has not been any denial of this critical factor, either by the federal government or any state or territory government.

But to suggest that increasing Australia’s climate targets would have prevented these fires or extreme weather events, in Australia or anywhere else, is simply false.

As part of a global effort, our government will ensure Australia keeps commitments made at the election. Australia’s carbon emissions are on average 50 million tonnes less per year than they were under the previous government. All achieved without a carbon tax.

As I made clear at the election we will exceed our Kyoto commitments, we will meet our Paris commitments and we will continue to welcome record investments in renewable technologies. At the same time we are getting electricity prices down, by $65 a year according to the latest figures, as a result of our policies.

We won’t embrace reckless targets and abandon our traditional industries that would risk Australian jobs while having no meaningful impact on the global climate. In short, we will continue to act responsibly on climate change, avoiding extreme responses and get the balance right.

Well there you go.
And that's why the Conservatives were elected to power at the recent federal election.

1 Million Tons of Radioactive Water
« Reply #25416 on: December 23, 2019, 01:46:15 AM »

That great nuclear power we should embrace:
Japan Gov't Proposes Fukushima Water Release To Sea Or Air
Just a mere million tons of radioactive water need to be dealt with.  Seems they're running out of containment space, the massive numbers of nuke water containers are getting in the way of cleaning up the radioactive debris, and otherwise the all the water tanks are vulnerable to earthquakes or tsunamis.

So might as well just dump all the radioactivity into the toilet ocean.  It's 9 years after the triple-meltdown and one reactor explosion.  And it'll take decades to dump the current million tons of radioactive water into the ocean, plus the radioactive water that'll be created during those next decades.

But nukes are safe.  Nothing to worry about.
Wonder if we'll have more accidents as more nuke facilities age, and as aging facilities find themselves in failed countries.  Or terror attacks or war will blow up a nuke plant.  Or just good old fashioned earthquakes and natural disasters.

And of course there's no safe method of disposing of spent nuclear fuel, no one wants it stored near them.  Not to mention the need for digging up, refining and transporting highly radioactive material.   But somehow it's better than solar or wind energy.

Btw, likely the Japanese will wait til after the Olympic games to flood their coast with radioactive dumping.

Was on some Guns are Great website and ran into this:

Quote
While some states restrict handgun magazines to ten rounds a handgun typically holds 15 rounds.
The AR-15’s standard magazine capacity is 30 rounds.

I didn't realize that typical guns harbored so many bullets.  I probably would have guessed 10 or so for handguns and 20 or less for assault rifles.

15 bullets from a typical handgun is quite a lot.
Can do a lot of damage and kill a lot of people and deter folks from stopping a shooting quite effectively.  Similarly that's a lot of defensive firepower assuming you are the good guy with the weapon.  In dangerous and stressful situations, folks are prone to emptying their guns.

30 bullets for an AR-15 is obviously a lot.  And then there high-capacity magazines that can be used.

Not surprisingly in the comments there are a lot of racist and Islamophobe posts.

US on high alert for possible ‘Christmas gift’ missile from North Korea

US officials are on high alert for signs of a possible missile launch from North Korea in the coming days that officials have referred to as a “Christmas gift.”

A significant launch or nuclear test would raise the end of North Korea's self-imposed moratorium on missile launches and tests.

It would also be a major blow to one of President Trump’s major foreign policy goals to get North Korea back to the negotiating table to eliminate its nuclear weapons.

#####

President Trump tried his best at diplomacy...obviously didn't work.
Now it's time to up the sanctions, and get the nukes ready to turn the place into ash.
"Christmas gift" nuke missile attack from NK?
No worries "Here's our Boxing Day present".....BOOM!  BOOM!  BOOM!  BOOM!...nothing left of NK,,,as Trump promised would happen.

North Korea is backed by China?

Some of the discussion about dry wall penetration and preferred ammunition when shooting folks in your home were interesting.

Some of the paranoia is impressive too.
One commentator professes to always having a handgun strapped to his person even in his own home.  Another talk aboutangry mob attacks including some with a "baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire."  Seems like some folks maybe watching too many movies.  Or perhaps there are home invasions with barbed-wire Louisville Sluggers I'm unaware of . . .

It's what homeowners need for protection from home invaders.
Guns are no good locked away, you have to wear them.
Pity the Aussie guy murdered in Texas in his own home didn't have a gun strapped on ready to fire.

Let me help you think about North Korea:

1) Sanctions are fairly useless on an isolated nation such as NK.  The US and its allies just don't actually trade anything with NK.
China does the most dealing, but they likely keep that going to keep their influence, to know what's going on in NK, and to have some leverage and control over NK.  NK is useful to China as a thorn in the US' side, as a buffer to keep US allies off its NE border, and China doesn't want large numbers of NK refugees flooding into China.

2) NK will not give up their nukes.  It's their primary guarantee against being attacked by a hostile and militaristic USofA.  If they ever had any doubts, which I doubt, they can just look at Libya or Ukraine for how good an idea it is to voluntarily remove your nukes.

3) NK is fairly impervious to any military attack, because the huge metropolis of Seoul and plenty of US troops sit just across the border (35 miles away) and are/will be an easy target before NK military capabilities are destroyed.  You can only attack North Korea is you're willing to have roughly half of Seoul level and killed.  Seoul has 10M people in its city limits, another 15M in the surrounding suburbs, or half the population of SK in and around Seoul.  This is why the infinitely wise Donald Trump recently suggested moving Seoul.

All of this is why not even Jared can solve the NK problem.
Trump was a chump to believe NK was going to give up their nukes.

The chance of a home invasion occurring is exceedingly small.
The chance of a loaded gun always carried around being misused seems much much greater.
