Non-zero chance he combusts in a grease fire and the Senate Sargent at Arms has to stomp him out.

It always feels good to watch the country rise up against the fascist republicans and their crooked racist ways.

Trump to tout record homelessness brought on by travel bans, ICE raids, tax scams and trade wars. He’ll crow about how he has succeeded in hollowing out and sickening this nation. He’ll waddle aimlessly on the backs of spineless republican Senators. He will fart and fall asleep. Kiid will call it a great speech. Red will want the full text in its original German.

My suggestion would be that the moment Trump starts to speak tonight, Pelosi should strike the gavel three times and all the Democrats should exit the chamber. Why sit and listen to an impeached Liar?

As luck would have it, "Going my Way" is on TCM tonight at 8:00
I have no reason to listen to an habitual liar, cheat and con man and total disgrace to our country.

I've never watched a SotU speech from this "president. "  They are entirely for the True Believers.   Here's a list of activities that should be given priority over the speech,  in addition to movies on cable...

Toenail buffing
Removal of labels from recyclables
Reading said labels for personal edification and error checking
Toenail filing
Careful search of bathroom floor for stray nail clippings
Giving the clippings names and backstories
Sniffing shirts in laundry basket to see what BO does after hours of dormancy
Making pet clothing out of can labels
Researching the botanical history of the turnip
Observing walnuts, then writing about the experience
Pushing objects against your eyes and looking at the pretty lights

Feel free to expand this list,  if so moved.

Fucking Dems want a censure now?

Evidently not.

Quote
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer both made clear Tuesday that censuring President Donald Trump, as some prominent Democrats have suggested, is not on the table.

"We have impeached the President," Pelosi, a California Democrat, said to a group of reporters in advance of the President's State of the Union address. "Our house has spoken."

As she started to make the case that Republican senators -- led by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky -- wouldn't go for the option anyway, Schumer finished the thought.

"Mitch McConnell -- we cannot bring it up in the Senate trial," the New York Democrat said. "He has the ability to bring it up afterwards. He won't. But for most of us, and just about all of us, he should be convicted and we don't want a halfway measure."

Schumer continued, "I think the reason McConnell doesn't want to bring it on the floor is our Republican colleagues -- so many of them -- are so afraid of even saying he was wrong that they don't want to have a vote on it."

Iowa held a caucus for snowbirds in Phoenix yesterday. The winner? Amy Klobuchar, of course.

There was one in Paris, led by a college student.

Republicans would have gone for the censure.

Not after the impeachment.

And likely not at all, but they say they would have now because talk is cheap.

And because it gives jerks like you talking points, you think.

Not after the impeachment.

Pelosi favored "HE'S IMPEACHED FOR LIFE!" over a censure that could have stuck

I prefer censure, but the point has been made that to even bring such a motion to the floor, one needs Mitch McConnell's permission (or a GOP senatorial override, which was not going to happen). No Mitch agreement, no censure motion.

Trump is good for the USA on business, and the economy, we strongly needed a new trade deal with China and others, using tariffs and fixing the trade deals really needed to happen. California lost a lot of jobs, and the Chinese and others need to start buying our stuff, our people need jobs too, and we have great stuff to sell them, it is not like we are punishing them by making them buy our stuff, and it will bring us all closer together as the Chinese drink California wine and eat Texas beef, etc, etc, etc.

But, then the President started talking about the Border Patrol and ICE, and in my mind's eye I saw the children in cages, the President needs to stop being a racist. Reagan was a real Republican and Reagan loved the Mexicans and he made all of our immigrants legal so that they could legally work, and join labor unions, and so that they could call the police in the case of an emergency, etc. We need to make our immigrants legal, and we need to make it easier for future immigrants to come legally.

It was cool that Juan Guaido was there, and I wish the best for Venezuela, and my advice for them on cheap land for the refugees is that Battle Mountain, Nevada, is cheap and safe. And there is a great little college in Elko, Nevada, for refugees who want to study in the USA.

Trump is doing good on the trade deals, I support all of that, we have been getting screwed for 30 years. But Trump needs to show some love here locally in the Western Hemisphere, and Trump needs to hold out an olive branch to Mexico, and we need love instead of walls.

Those are a few of my thoughts from Trump's speech.

Salute,

Tony V.
