Kentucky’s heavily Republican legislature voted Tuesday to require voters to show a government-issued photo ID, overriding Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear’s veto in the process.

Meanwhile, if a Kentucky voter heads to the state’s webpage hoping to learn how to obtain such an ID, they will encounter a message telling them ID-issuing offices are closed.

I like the writer's analogy to take down Phil McGraw's comparison to automotive deaths.   Yes,  if there was a contagious computer virus that jumped from car to car,  causing them to drive off cliffs,  into lakes,  at power poles,  etc,  at an exponential rate of increase,  we would most definitely shut down the fleet and put up with massive inconvenience and economic distress to remedy the glitch.  Few would be persuaded to keep driving the glitch cars by "hey,  there's a 95% chance you'll just go over a curb,  and not be maimed or killed. "

If you support Trump and have a very closed mind, then you vote for Trump.  It's the 20% of middle ground folks you want to persuade.  I think a lot of folks are uncomfortable with Trump's praise of Putin and fondness for dictators.  Lotta suburban moms out there up for grabs.

Americans don't really give a darn when it comes to dictators in other countries.  Many (R) voters are isolationist and probably think that by chumming up to foreign dictators Trump is keeping them safe.  They definitely don't care about freedom of the press in Russia or drug user deaths in the Phillipines. That's a waste of ad money.

Some care if the dictator has a nuclear arsenal, a crack team of hackers,  and doesn't like the US.  I will grant you that fewer angst over the Philippines.

Everything I am reading says that the percentage of actual swing voters is far narrower than that.
