Oh, yeah, that whole science thing, again. You really hate it, don't you, Kid?! Facts. Damned stubborn things.

I was good at science

Nah, man - clearly you'd have failed the interview process

Trump had Sha-PIE-ro do his.

I was quoting Trump’s lie about himself.

I wonder what Alfred M.  Butts,  the inventor of Scrabble, would think of this.  I see he was descended from Krauts and Limey cocksuckers.

Well that didn’t take long!

Days after 150 supposedly “woke’” leftists signed a letter opposing left wing attacks on free speech some signees  are having second thoughts.
Looks like what passes for self- anointed intelligentsia is very much a work in process with huge odds in favor of  it never being finished.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court on Thursday upheld a prosecutor’s demand for President Donald Trump’s tax returns as part of a criminal investigation that includes hush-money payments to women who claim they had affairs with Trump.

The court ruled 7-2 in a case in which it heard arguments by telephone in May because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The records are held by Trump’s longtime accounting firm, Mazars USA, which has said it would comply with a court order.

It probably will be at least several weeks before the court issues a formal judgment that would trigger the turnover of the records....

The “ woke” generation rises up to squelch science research at Michigan State.
The school begs for forgiveness.

Ohio Gov Mike DeWine has ordered masks for 7 northeast Ohio counties to stop the spread of Covid-19

Better late than never.

https://www.cleveland.com/metro/2020/07/read-ohio-gov-mike-dewines-county-mask-order-here.html

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Gov. Mike DeWine’s order that people in seven counties, including the homes of Cleveland, Cincinnati and Columbus, wear masks in public went into effect at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

While DeWine announced the order Tuesday, the full text was released about 7 p.m. Wednesday, an hour after it took effect. You can read the full order here affecting Cuyahoga, Butler, Franklin, Hamilton, Huron, Montgomery and Trumbull counties.

The state said people in these counties must wear masks in public places because they have a high level of coronavirus spread. Masks can help prevent the spread coronavirus by blocking respiratory droplets produced when people talk, cough or sneeze.

Under the order, Ohions in the seven counties must wear masks inside any indoor space that is not a home and outside when they can’t stay six feet away from people outside their household. The order also requires masks when waiting for or using public transit, car services, or ride shares.

I understand Red is ready to roll and mask up.

And?

if you gotta explain 'em

it means you're talking to kid.

heh

its THE Ohio State helmet with mask

you think Jim-Red would be cough (sic, very sic) dead in Michigan gear?

Boz-I don't know where Jim-Red lives, but I thought he spent half the year in Columbus and half in Berlin. maybe we should lift the Utley ban to get a definitive answer.

But even if Jim-Red lives outside THE Ohio state masked zone, he'll need some protective equipment when he travels back to the Horseshoe to eat cupcakes and the like.

Hope you're and the family are well in AZ.

He can donate his money any way he wants, however, I don’t have to purchase goods at his establishment if I don’t want my buying power being used to support whom I consider to be my oppressor.

I think people are too uninformed and lackadaisical about who they give their money to.  Why buy things from China?   So if the Home Depot head makes it clear he's a Trump backer, your spending habits can indeed have an impact.  Lefties stop shopping there and HD might moderate their views or set up community programs to show they care.  They'll fight for their bottom line, if enough people join in the semi-boycott.  get all liberals to shift their business to Lowe's.  You could probably get Lowe's to support your side and HD to reach out and moderate.

In these times, money has been declared speech.  But your giving your money to those who speak out against what you believe.  Capitalism isn't neutral, it's a system that rewards certain behavior, such as screwing workers.  Engage with capitalism and spend your money where it aids the kind of people and kinds of companies who are good citizens believing in the welfare of all.

The problem for Biden in these debates will be the same exact one he faced when he debated Palin.  No one expected her to know what she was talking about, so when she pretended to be 1/4 competent (and I'm being generous) it was declared a victory for her.

I don't think that really works after you've been running the country for 3.5 years.

The Supreme Court on Thursday ruled that the Manhattan district attorney may access President Donald Trump’s financial and tax records, but the court turned back a similar effort by House Democrats.

The ruling in the case involving Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance was a blow to Trump, who has long sought to keep his records private, but it does not mean that those records will be released soon, since they are being demanded as part of a confidential grand-jury investigation.

The Supreme Court considered two sets of cases: a subpoena from Vance and subpoenas from three House of Representatives committees to Trump’s banks and his accounting firm. Vance’s subpoena sought eight years’ worth of Trump’s business and personal tax records.

In the Vance case, Trump’s lawyers have said he is immune from criminal investigation while in office. His lawyers have called the subpoenas from House Democrats “unprecedented,” though justices have disputed that, invoking prior Supreme Court losses by Presidents Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton when they sought to withhold information.

Chief Justice John Roberts wrote the opinions in both cases, which were each 7-2.

“In our judicial system, ‘the public has a right to every man’s evidence.’ Since the earliest days of the Republic, ‘every man’ has included the President of the United States,” wrote Roberts in the Vance case.
