A four-four SCOTUS in a tightly contested Presidential election shoud make everyone nervous.
Highly contested? Biden should win this in a landslide as a clear majority of Americans understand Trump is a corrupt and inept authoritarian buffoon.
Familiarize yourself with the Electoral College. It's not about "the clear majority of Americans", nor what they "understand".
And follow the money.
The GOP advantage conferred by the Electoral College is considerable. The fact that only Maine and Nebraska can split electors is unfortunate for representative democracy.
Obama, for example, received an electoral vote in Nebraska in 2008 that would have gone to John McCain if a WTA system had been in place. "One vote, one district" should be the norm, not the exception.
