Trump threatens to 'close the border permanently' amid heightened tensions

President Trump on Monday urged Mexico to deport Central American migrants who are attempting to reach the U.S. and threatened to permanently shut down the southern border.

"Mexico should move the flag-waving Migrants, many of whom are stone cold criminals, back to their countries," Trump wrote on Twitter. "Do it by plane, do it by bus, do it anyway you want, but they are NOT coming into the U.S.A. We will close the Border permanently if need be. Congress, fund the WALL!"

Gotta love this one from Trump.
At least he stands for something...unlike his 'sanctuary cities'/'open borders' predecessors.
MAGA! ...border security!

And trump posturing and campaigning leads to border closing in California. Will people get to go to work on Monday? People trying to get home via land have a long detour.

Nothing like a little administrative chaos to add to the environmental and homicidal and technological chaos we are already inundated with.

If that's the price that has to be paid to maintain the integrity of the border ...then so be it.
Not Trump's fault...he told the world very clearly that the caravaners would not be allowed in...they took no notice.

https://www.cnn.com/2018/11/26/politics/mia-love-donald-trump-concession/

On the subject of the (R) party, in which R stands for racist far too often, Mia Love observed that:

Quote
"The President's behavior towards me made me wonder: What did he have to gain by saying such a thing about a fellow Republican," Love said during her speech in Salt Lake City. "It was not really about asking him to do more, was it? Or was it something else? Well Mr. President, we'll have to chat about that."

She continued, "However, this gave me a clear vision of his world as it is. No real relationships, just convenient transactions. That is an insufficient way to implement sincere service and policy."

Love then turned her attention to the larger problem Republicans in Washington have with minority voters.

"This election experience and these comments shines a spotlight on the problems Washington politicians have with minorities and black Americans -- it's transactional, it's not personal," she said.

She added, "You see, we feel like politicians claim they know what's best for us from a safe distance, yet they're never willing to take us home. Because Republicans never take minority communities into their home and citizens into their homes and into their hearts, they stay with Democrats and bureaucrats in Washington because they do take them home -- or at least make them feel like they have a home."

That was hardly all she had to say - but one key thing she said was that she is no longer constrained in saying what she believes.

I think the country will be better served by her speaking her mind, even when we disagree.

Goodbye Congress, Hello CNN!

She’s just not falling for the bullshit the way the Times has.

The fact is Trump’s shitshow at the border is an abject clusterfuck but he is ginning up this “crisis” for the benefit of the schmoes, like you, who think this shit will give him “ammunition” to fight  the danger we face from barefoot toddlers.

But her emails... fuck the NYT.

This “consent culture,” as Unicron calls it, will be embedded in the technology at Eve’s: The brothel will be staffed exclusively by the Harmony robot from Real Doll X—a pouty plastic model that warms up slowly over the course of an interaction. Harmony’s prospective partners must rack up conversational “points” with her before unlocking the ultimate prize.

Hooking up with Harmony the robot lady is fast becoming harder than 'Chinese arithmetic'.

_________________________________________________________________________________

Yes, in bambuland in 2007 Labor Party leader Kevin Rudd was elected Prime Minister, promising even more free stuff and better times that Conservative PM John Howard was providing.

'First' thing he did was declare Howard's "Pacific Solution" for asylum-seekers as being "racist and too harsh"...thereby opening the flood gates.
The People were outraged [well, enough were to cause his decline in the polls]...and the Labor govt replaced him with Julia Gillard as PM.
The boats kept coming...800 boats and 50,000 people in them.
As Ms Gillard declined in the polls the Labor govt replaced her with Kevin Rudd as PM again.

He then drew a line in the sand, said that any asylum seekers who arrived by boat from then on would never ever be settled in Australia...but instead would be held in offshore detention centres where they'd be processed by the UNHCR and resettled in other countries.
Did that stop people paying people smugglers, still expecting to be settled in Australia?
No.
So they found themselves housed in detention centres on Manus Island and in tents/buildings on Nauru...in shipping containers in PNG [Manus Is] as the 2013 election neared.
Too little too late and he/Labor govt were booted out of office.

Like Trump, Rudd told the world very clearly that the days of simply waltzing into terra Australis undocumented and non-investigated were over.
