heh

Silly stuff, eh?

Really......little effort being made.

Though this morning more than one legislator gave a 50-50 chance of something positive occurring.

Amazing how many do not know that illegal immigration is a crime.

Amazing how you don't understand that it is legal to come to the US and apply for asylum - that it is legal for *anybody* in the United States from a foreign country for less than a year to apply for asylum!

Amazing how you keep talking about the barrier when it won't stop the bulk of people here against our immigration laws, but you never address the others.

Amazing how you fail to address the very simple solution to the asylum seekers who have been refused permission to even apply, by sending in folks to evaluate the claims rather than sending thousands of troops to "control" the problem.

Amazing how you cannot or will not hear the officials on the border, who tell you this is not an emergency, but only listen to the false information from this administration, which has proven it cannot be trusted.

Amazing how you ignore the crimes of this administration with regard to the children.

Amazing how you ignore that the numbers crossing the border from Mexico are lower than they have been in decades.

Or not so amazing, after all.

Crimes against chidren? WTF are you talking about? Crimes against law abiding tax paying citizens. If you are going to use your babies as human shields to break the law it is not going to work they are all going back. Building a wall is good for the economy and American labor creating many jobs, but primarily it aids border control and security.

---Treating children as a get-out-of-jail-free card for illegal border-crossers may have been defensible when it applied to only a handful of people, but it has caused the problem to mushroom. Releasing anyone who brings his or her child into the U.S. has incentivized the smuggling of children and enabled an increasingly large share of new illegal aliens to get past the border and embed themselves in our society.---

Luee, this is part of what I am talking about.

But you asked
Crimes against chidren? WTF are you talking about?

https://thehill.com/opinion/immigration/393722-children-should-not-be-human-shields-against-immigration-enforcement

Nobody has proposed that they should be shields against immigration enforcement.

Nor were they before Trump.

Crimes against children is when you take the children away from their parents who are legally applying for asylum.

You seem to have brainfreeze on this topic. LEGAL. LEGAL. LEGAL. Legal by OUR laws. Legal by our BINDING TREATIES.

Crimes against children is when you fail to keep any records of where you have put the children whom you have taken illegally.

Caught up yet?

Crimes against children is when you violate the court order to return those children, after you hid that you had them, to start with.

Crimes against morality is when you punish the children for crimes you accuse the parents of having committed when (a) there has been no trial and (b) the parents have also been mistreated under the law.

You are working against both our laws and morality.

The top US commander in the war against ISIS aligned himself Sunday with the US intelligence community assessment that there are "tens of thousands" of ISIS fighters spread across Syria and Iraq.

"They are dispersed and disaggregated, but there is leadership, there are fighters there, there are facilitators there," Gen. Joseph Votel told reporters traveling with him to the Middle East for his farewell tour.

Votel's comments underscore the testimony from Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats before Congress, an assessment President Donald Trump has publicly disagreed with.

Crimes against children is when you illegally cross the border and use them as shields.

---Illegal immigration on pace for worst year since massive wall-building spree in 2007---

---Amazing how you ignore that the numbers crossing the border from Mexico are lower than they have been in decades.--- Huh!

A different reality, false news? You cannot believe anything the liberal elite tell you about immigration. Forget the facts just remember pictures of crying babies. But illegal immigration is not illegal?

The I was just applying for asylum card no longer works. Were they persecuted for being violent primitives?

My numbers came from the government's website, Luee, not the Washington Times.

And you chide me for my choice of sources?

It's not "crying babies."

It is the government admitting that there are thousands more children detained than they admitted to in June, July, and August - August, when they said they only had 500 left to reunite with their families.

You keep pretending that it is all right to have taken these kids from their families.

And you say "I was just applying for asylum card no longer works."

ON WHAT FUCKING BASIS?

https://www.uscis.gov/humanitarian/refugees-asylum/asylum/obtaining-asylum-united-states
Quote
To obtain asylum through the affirmative asylum process you must be physically present in the United States. You may apply for asylum status regardless of how you arrived in the United States or your current immigration status.

You must apply for asylum within one year of the date of their last arrival in the United States, unless you can show:

Changed circumstances that materially affect your eligibility for asylum or extraordinary circumstances relating to the delay in filing
You filed within a reasonable amount of time given those circumstances.

You may apply for affirmative asylum by submitting Form I-589, Application for Asylum and for Withholding of Removal, to USCIS. See Form I 589, Application for Asylum and for Withholding of Removal for instructions on how to file for asylum.

That's the LAW, Luee. It's not something that you or Trump can ditch just because you feel like it.

A little farther down the same page, it explains:
Quote
Affirmative asylum applicants are rarely detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). You may live in the United States while your application is pending before USCIS. If you are found ineligible, you can remain in the United States while your application is pending with the Immigration Judge. Most asylum applicants are not authorized to work.

This is from the most recent year that DHS has for illegal aliens living in the United States.
https://www.dhs.gov/sites/default/files/publications/18_1214_PLCY_pops-est-report.pdf
Estimates of the Unauthorized Immigrant Population Residing in the United States
Quote
Of the 12.0 million illegal aliens in 2015, nearly 80 percent
had been in the United States for longer than 10 years, whereas
only six percent had entered within the last five years (2010-
2014) (see Table 1 and Figure 2). During the peak period in
2007, less than 50 percent of the population had been in
the United States for longer than 10 years, and more than
20 percent had entered within the most recent five-year period
(2002-2006). This pattern suggests a declining rate of growth
of new illegal immigration and/or an increasing share of new
illegal aliens being repatriated or otherwise returning home

From a press release from DHS:
Quote
Smugglers and traffickers then use these large groups as “cover” while USBP resources are utilized to arrest and detention related duties associated with the large groups.

On January 16, 2018, USBP apprehended a group of 253 illegal aliens and in a separate event seized approximately 265 lbs of Marijuana.

On January 17, 2018, USBP agents seized 705 lbs of Cocaine. On the same day, USBP agents apprehended a large group of 174.

On January 18, 2018, USBP apprehended a group of 116 and in a separate event seized approximately 1,087 lbs of Marijuana.

Contrast that with https://www.azcentral.com/story/news/politics/border-issues/2019/01/31/254-pound-fentanyl-seizure-sets-record-nogales-arizona-border-crossing/2731969002/ - Siezed at a border crossing and far more dangerous.

A joint drug bust between Australian and U.S. authorities in mid-January resulted in a record 1.7 tons of methamphetamine being seized at Los Angeles/Long Beach seaport.

Customs and Border Protection announced the seizure of the three containers on Thursday, which were intended to be shipped to Australia before being searched on Jan. 11. The containers were filled with speakers “artfully” stuffed with the drugs.

In addition to the 3,810 pounds of meth, the shipment also contained 55.9 pounds of cocaine and 11.5 pounds of heroin. Australian officials said the total street value of the haul was $1.29 billion.

Sounds like Josh's stance is that immigrants should be able to just come into the US, futz around for a year, then decide whether they want asylum or they will return from where they came.  A TRIAL year, so to speak.  With nobody bothering you.

And Budget Negotiations broke down over the number of beds allowed at the border.
Dems want criminals counted equally wth all others.
Virginia squirrel alert the most obvious motive for this new demand.

Facts

- The limit on detention beds for people rounded up in the interior is not a new demand.  It was part of the Democrat’s opening negotiation 10 days ago.
- It is not about “criminals counted equally” just the opposite. The point of the bed limit is to get ICE to focus on detaining criminals over non-criminal and/or non-violent offenders.
- Republicans, through ICE, have the ability to provide facts on the current 20,000 detained from the interior to make the argument that they are all criminals but for some reason have not done so.
- Trump, after having ten days to respond to this issue, is doing so now at the last minute only after it has become clear that negotiators, from both sides, are not giving him the requested wall money.

As you were.

When Purdue Pharma introduced OxyContin, its opioid pill, to the market in 1995, company owner Richard Sackler predicted at a company launch party that "the prescription blizzard will be so deep, dense, and white." How right he was. Hundreds of thousands of deaths later, large swaths of our country are buried in an opioid blizzard that has caused immeasurable suffering. At least two million are addicted to opioids, and more Americans now die of overdoses of various opioids (including heroin and fentanyl) every year than are killed in car accidents or gun assaults. In a new court filing, the Massachusetts attorney general has revealed how Sackler reacted when it became clear Purdue had lied about OxyContin's highly addictive nature. Blame the victims, he urged in an email to underlings. "We have to hammer on abusers in every way possible," he said. "They are the culprits."

This is the rationalization of pushers everywhere: I'm not forcing anyone to buy my product, and if these fools destroy themselves, why is that my problem? After opioid addiction became an epidemic, Purdue and three of its top executives paid $634 million in fines in 2007 for deceiving doctors and patients about OxyContin's dangers. But Sackler was never charged; today, his family is worth an estimated $13 billion. Coincidentally, that's about the same amount that federal authorities estimate Sinaloa drug cartel chief Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán — currently on trial in New York City — earned over his infamous career. In a very real way, Sackler helped make El Chapo so wildly successful: By getting millions hooked on opioids in pill form, Sackler created a massive market for street heroin, which is far cheaper and easier to obtain. El Chapo will no doubt die in federal prison. Sackler, meanwhile, is enjoying semi-retirement from his family's business, and his donations have given the Sackler name an honored place on museums throughout the world. The funerals for "the culprits" will continue.
