I also have some doubts. Ham delivers the kind of open race baiting that you don't see much nowadays - he doesn't even bother code switching. To me, that's something kind of useful to watch, to get an idea of what sort of shit is in people's heads out there.

A poster who repeatedly attempts to reveal the name and residence of another poster, even after he has said he would stop, is not "one of us" to me, despite his having been around the NYT message boards far longer than I.
That he has threatened me with the same, going so far as to post my picture and (attempt to) talk about my private life just exacerbates the problem.
He was given warning after warning. He either chose not to change or could not change. Either way, he had gone over the top too many times.
Kid, if Bankshot is willing to have him back then I'll probably undo the ban - but also, I will probably not stay, myself. He is too volatile, IMO.

In general, as in 99.999% of the time I'm not for banning posters, and I'm a little surprised that Josh banned Ham/utley/etal, but as best as I can tell he did so, because boz asked a very good tongue-in-cheek question of Josh in the NFL forum, where earlier today, hammy, out of the blue, with no provocation, defamed me again.
To paraphrase, boz wanted to know if it was ok to post someone's name and address and then falsely accuse them of being a sexual predator of children, and it was ok, he had a list and some scores he wanted to settle.
Josh understood the logic of boz's question.
Hammy has been doing this shit for years, targeting mostly me, but I've seen him threaten Josh, and drop personal reference in menacing manners to yank and cap with veiled threats about the nature of their private family lives. And then there is the unconscionable racism he routinely targets Knicks with. Hammy is a very damaged and a very angry person with little self-control.
Now I don't care about the insults, I'll get into a flame war with anyone just for fun, but I do care that the fuck-up posted private information (address phone #) which in the hands of a sociopath could result in a very dangerous situation, for only for me but for other members of my family.
And he did it several times.
And he did it after saying he was surprsiedhe could do something that underhanded and mean.
A normal adult with a half-way formed sense of right and wrong would never act this way. Hammy was not normal. He was a sociopath.
