Sure. In any event it looks like I chose the wrong profession.

https://www.cnn.com/2020/08/29/us/university-of-alabama-covid-19-cases-trnd/index.html

1200 cases at U of Alabama since the campus reopened. No wonder Trump wants testing slowed down (as per the guideline that asymptomatic cases no longer need testing, a stupid change if ever there were one).

All pretty much expected - and planned for

Alarmists - go away

"Our exposure notification efforts have revealed no evidence of virus transmission due to in-person class instruction," said Dr. Ricky Friend, dean of the College of Community Health Sciences at UA.
"We remain satisfied that the precautions implemented prior to the resumption of classes -- including masking, distancing, and a blend of in-person and remote instruction -- are appropriate and effective," he said

The DNI has said that this is the last briefing the Intelligence Committees will get about Election Security from him. Trump claims it was the DNI's idea. Yeah, right.

Fake DNI.

Now Black people are being massacred in Chicago etc...by other Black people.

Only those that die at the hands of someone in uniform matter to BLM masses.

Don’t equate murders by criminals with murder at the hands of those who are sworn protect and serve.

Otherwise the cops are just another gang.

Saw this posted here.   I can only add that the "get 100 people to vote" is a splendid idea.

And,  this is my personal tip,  either bring Biden/Harris yard signs in at night,  or point one of those porch cams at the sign.   Sign stealing is reportedly up this year,  and its primarily Republicans (who seem to be revealing more lately of how they really feel about democracy and the First Amendment) taking Biden signs.

https://www.cnn.com/2020/08/29/economy/trump-treasury-new-guidance-tax-holiday/index.html

Tax "holiday" that you and your employer have to repay later. Such a bad idea.

Quote
Companies can stop withholding employees' payroll taxes starting September 1, although workers will have to pay the taxes by the end of April 2021. The new guidance, released together with the IRS, applies only to those whose bi-weekly paychecks are less than $4,000, the equivalent of $104,000 a year.

The guidance comes after President Donald Trump's August 8 executive action giving workers a tax holiday. It left open the possibility of forgiving the deferred tax later on.

But only Congress has the power to waive taxes, so all the president can do is postpone when they are due.

Although Trump's action was signed weeks earlier, the guidance was delayed as the White House looked into whether it was possible to waive workers' taxes entirely rather than deferring them to next year. The answer from the Internal Revenue Service was no, employees are still on the hook for paying their taxes next year.

It is up to the companies whether they will opt in to the payroll tax deferral. Many were waiting for the guidance from the Treasury Department, but already a collection of business leaders have pushed back against the plan.

"Many of our members consider it unfair to employees to make a decision that would force a big tax bill on them next year," the US Chamber of Commerce and more than 30 trade associations wrote in an August 18 letter to Congress and the Treasury Department.

"It would also be unworkable to implement a system where employees make this decision," wrote the groups, adding many of their members will likely decline to defer the tax.

If companies take this approach and withhold taxes for employees starting Wednesday, the taxes will be deferred until January 1. At that time, companies will withhold taxes from paychecks in larger amounts so employees can pay back what they owe.

I just woke up with amnesia and wasn't sure of the exact year.   Then I heard all these Republicans quoting MLK.   That narrowed it down to years divisible by four.
Cute .
But clueless on history.

There would have been no 1964 Civil Rights Bill without the GOP.
The House passed with 92 per cent of GOP members voting yes.
But the trek through the Senate was much more treacherous.
Dems had 67 members,  enough to be filibuster-free but they were nowhere close given the opposition of the Southern dems.  It was minority leader Everett Dirksen who led a GOP charge to strengthen the bill and win the cloture vote with 82 % of his 33 member caucus. 23 democrat Senators voted no.

King’s words were meant for everyone.
They were not political Speeches.

They absolutely were political speeches.

Thank you for pointing out that to a large extent it is their own party’s good works an legacy this current crop off fully debased republicans is selling up the river.

Yes Kiid. Students should read “Between the World and Me”, among other texts, before pursuing that assignment.

I used to teach students to animate cartoons like that in PowerPoint, PhotoShop, and Flash. Good stuff.
