He can be a magician, but not with having Trump-only info.

Statements like this are what we call "magical thinking".

This affliction is most commonly found among pre-schoolers and Trump defenders.

This does a great disservice to those who may actually have, know, or like pre-schoolers.

it's unbelievable that Trump not only did little to nothing to combat the Virus, but actually actively thwarted state efforts to protect their citizens.

No. It's not unbelievable. It's totally believable. It's who Trump is. It's who the GOP is.

Please - if you are still teaching - keep your bias out of the classroom.

Ah, a proponent of "values free" teaching.

It's a myth, Kid. As soon as one steps foot in the classroom, one has brought bias with them.

Every textbook selection, every example brought into the class outside the text. Our values are part and parcel of almost everything we do, as you demonstrate on a regular and sustaining basis.

Or is it only the opinions that agree with yours that you want in the classroom?! Weren't you one of those wanting God 'back' in the public schools?! Speaking of bias!

Not to be picky about language,  but isn't an "anti-Trump administration" any Democratic administration that follows this one?   Technically, the Trump administration was the anti-Obama administration.   Which it was,  bigly.

Speaking of pitfalls of wording,  I had an LoL at...

Sen. Bill Cassidy replied “I can’t comment on someone else’s opinion"

Since he's a Senator,  and a large component of politics is commenting on someone else's opinion, that's a really amusing dodge.

Oh, I think any GOP administration in the future will be an anti-Trump administration, as well.

"Follow the money."

https://www.cnbc.com/2020/09/10/cms-chief-seema-verma-spent-millions-in-taxpayer-funds-to-boost-personal-brand-democrats-say.html

Leaders from four congressional committees, who on Thursday revealed the results of a 17-month investigation into Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Seema Verma’s use of public funds, are now calling on her to “personally reimburse the taxpayers for these inappropriate expenditures.”

The Democrats say they obtained tens of thousands of documents showing dozens of questionable billing statements – including that one consultant, Pam Stevens, billed almost $3,000 for work related to setting up a “Girl’s Night to honor the Administrator.”

The probe was conducted by Democrats on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, House Oversight and Reform Committee, Senate Finance Committee and Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee.

“Our investigation found that Administrator Verma misused funds appropriated by Congress and wasted taxpayer dollars intended to support critical federal health care programs,” the Democratic committee leaders said in a joint statement.

“Congress did not intend for taxpayer dollars to be spent on handpicked communications consultants used to promote Administrator Verma’s public profile and personal brand. Administrator Verma has shown reckless disregard for the public’s trust,” they said.

The Democrats accuse Verma of building a “shadow operation that sidelined CMS’s Office of Communications.” Her cadre of handpicked consultants charged CMS nearly $6 million in less than two years, the 56-page report alleges.

Either Trump was telling US Governors the same thing he was telling Woodward in February in which case they are all equally culpable for taking little to no actions, or Trump was keeping them in the dark about what the Federal Government knew about the COVID threat in addition to lying to the American public about it.

Yes.  Governors knew the flu was airborn and could be much deadlier than the common flu.  Trump didn't have information that only he could obtain.
No. He didn’t.
The US system of government prevents such idiocy. Its branches are co-equal.  Nancy Pelosi, third in line to the Presidency, was privy to the same info as Trump especially through daily briefings, the reports from the CDC, the WHO,news reports, etc.
Yet Pelosi, through her presence in Chinatown in late February, was playing down a serious threat.  So was Dr. Fauci. The 50 states all have health departments and all can make decisions without approval from Washington.  And by the first weekend of March many restrictions were underway that led to lockdowns.

WASHINGTON – A former acting undersecretary at the Department of Homeland Security accused top officials there of ordering him to stop sharing intelligence assessments on Russia’s efforts to interfere in the U.S. election because they “made the President look bad.”

According to a whistleblower complaint filed by Brian Murphy, former head of the Office of Intelligence and Analysis at DHS, top brass also told Murphy to downplay a threat assessment about White supremacy.

The formal whistleblower complaint describes a “repeated pattern of abuse of authority, attempted censorship of intelligence analysis and improper administration of an intelligence program related to Russian efforts to influence and undermine United States interests.”

Among the most serious allegations are that acting Secretary Chad Wolf earlier this year instructed Murphy “to cease providing intelligence assessments on the threat of Russian interference in the United States, and instead start reporting on interference activities by China and Iran.”

Key word: ULTIMATELY.

And... read what Dr. Fauci said to Woodward and see if you are just as comfortable.

But whatever, Kid. You are a duplicitous poster who gives no fucks for anybody not in your circle.

False.  The President receives intel briefings, daily, that are not available to Congress.  Congress needs to request briefings on certain subjects to receive them, like for example when Pelosi needed to ask for a briefing on the Russian Bounties.

Intelligence doesn't even tell the President everything.  When Trump's people tell them specifically not to include info on Russian Interference in our elections, you think Congress gets the info that the "president" doesn't?  Of course not.

But maybe you and kiidcarter8 are right, and literally everyone in Federal and Local governments had all the info on COVID that Trump had in Jan/Feb and every one of them made the same decision to do nothing.

Yeah, that sounds plausible.

1) Learn to use this message board. Your sloppiness misrepresents people worse than anything I have ever done here.

2) You accuse ME of being naive? When the president directs the intelligence agencies to stop delivering briefings on certain topics because it makes him look bad or it disagrees with his personal opinion, then no, nobody gets the info available to him. When he tells them to no longer give briefings to Congressional Intelligence Committees on election security, then no, they don't get the info.

But you, too, are a dishonest poster without a shred of compassion for those outside your circle, as you have so admirably demonstrated repeatedly.
