Quite impressive in Georgia.

Gap is under 45k in Georgia with 180k remaining to count.

Trump is suing to try to stop the counting there, too.

Got to feel good about any state trump is sending lawyers to. NV, GA, PA. He’s too pussy to even try in Arizona.

"What's wrong with you?" asks Biden voters of Trump voters.

Quote
Look in my eyes, what do you see?
The cult of personality
I know your anger, I know your dreams
I've been everything you want to be
I'm the cult of personality
Like Mussolini and Kennedy
I'm the cult of personality
The cult of personality
The cult of personality
Neon lights, a Nobel Prize
Then a mirror speaks, the reflection lies
You don't have to follow me
Only you can set me free
I sell the things you need to be
I'm the smiling face on your T.V.
I'm the cult of personality
I exploit you still you love me
I tell you one and one makes three
I'm the cult of personality
Like Joseph Stalin and Gandhi
I'm the cult of personality
The cult of personality
The cult of personality
Neon lights a Nobel Prize
A leader speaks, that leader dies
You don't have to follow me
Only you can set you free
You gave me fortune
You gave me fame
You gave me power in your own god's name
I'm every person you need to be
Oh, I'm the cult of personality
I'm the cult of, I'm the cult of, I'm the cult of, I'm the cult of
I'm the cult of, I'm the cult of, I'm the cult of, I'm the cult of personality

Regarding the polls and the incessant noise here between  Kid and Josh, ad infinitum.

Consider that Susan Collins never once led any RCP poll average, or 538, during her entire campaign for a FIFTH SENATE TERM in Maine.

But Tuesday she breezed to a nine point win.

Among the more bemusing topics on any ballot was the measure to change the name of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations to become just Rhode Island.

I was relieved to see that it passed, but 53% to 47%?!

Why the fuck would anybody vote to change it? To preserve "history?" To what end?

And mine,  and Yankguy's,  et al.   Margaret Sullivan in WaPo had an insightful column on how broken polling algorithms are.   In Maine,  I have to wonder if the way questions in polls were presented didn't fully grapple with the ranked choice system and the nearly seven percent of non major party support.

Is Rhode Island even an island?   Should just be Rhode.   Or,  as rising oceans nibble away at its shores,  "E-Rhode. "

Trump eyes Supreme Court, but campaign takes election fight to state courts

“He just doesn’t know how it works,” said a Republican close to the White House. “It’s just out of ignorance of the process.”

Too generous. Too willing to cut Trump slack.

And not even recognizing why that's damning.

The WH coronavirus task force, which is reduced to meeting once per week and no longer does televised addresses...

...warns new coronavirus cases are increasing 'exponentially' in weekly state reports.

Also refreshing to note Californians deep sixed a return to affirmative action.
Despite polls saying the vote ( Issue 16) would be close it got crushed.( oh those polls)

Opponents raised $1.6 million, fueled by smaller donations from a grassroots network that included Chinese immigrants worried that public universities would bypass Asian American applicants with higher scores and grades in favor of lower-scoring African American and Latino students.

Bottom line is the California voters said discrimination should stay illegal.

New daily average and individual day highs in COVID-19 deaths for the world, blowing past the individual day high by 500.

The US hit a new high for cases in a day, too, beating the previous new high from last week by thousands, though we did not get to 110,000 today. The average daily new cases tally is up past 90k, 160% above our low less than 2 months ago and 40% above our high from the summer.

Average daily deaths for the week is the highest in exactly two months, just shy of 900 a day.
