Australia must get nukes...now.
Got any nuke-powered, nuke-armed subs for rent?

http://www.msn.com/en-au/news/australia/comment-take-it-seriously-nk-nuclear-threat-looms-over-northern-australia/ar-BBUlbOT?li=AAgfYrC&OCID=AVRES000

Comment: 'Take it seriously': NK nuclear threat looms over Northern Australia

North Korea publicly painted a nuclear target on Australia in April 2017. Kim Jong-un's regime seized on the fact that a contingent of US marines is now in a permanent, rotating deployment in the Northern Territory. Specifically, the regime's main mouthpiece, the official party newspaper Rodong Sinmun, said: “If Australia persists in following the US moves to isolate and stifle the DPRK [Democratic People's Republic of Korea] and remains a shock brigade of the US master, this will be a suicidal act of coming within the range of the nuclear strike of the strategic force of the DPRK.”

#####

Oh the folly of Australia's not getting nuclear weapons for itself way back when it allowed Britain to test atomic bombs in the outback [regardless of Aboriginal lands].
The totally absurdity of letting Britain test bombs, and as part of that deal not having a contract where Australia could have nukes too.
Now look what's happened...Australia is totally defenceless.

The folly of going around signing nuclear non-proliferation treaties.
'Everyone' else has nukes ...Britain, USA, India, Pakistan, Russia, China, France ...soon Iran, North Korea, and anyone else who so chooses.

Okay, so not all that upstanding.

"Everyone else..." Then you name 6 countries.

And you watch India and Pakistan and think the world would be better off with more countries having them?

Such a maroon.

No nukes for you, Bambi.

RE: cleaning up voting list.
There are legitimate reasons for removing names from these lists - death and moving into another state/county.  I see no reason why this should not be a reasonable "housekeeping" matter.

On a similar Issue, Voter ID's,  I have never been asked to present a picture ID to vote.
I give my name and address, my birthdate, and sign my signature. period.  Of course, other
Jurisdictions can do it differently, but the Gov't issued photo ID requirement is just what opponents
Say it is: a means to deny voting rights to a portion of the population.  The portion that one political party has maintained "is too ignorant to be informed voters."

It's by state, isn't it?

So you are saying there are REPUBLICAN states?
All of Ohio's decision points for.the redistricting process have been controlled by the Repos for a couple decades. As result both the state house and the US house delegation do not really represent the voters of the state at large. In part that is unavoidable; wide swaths of the state are rural Republican, Cleveland is almost completely Democratic and short of physically transporting people on election day, nothing is going to change it. But take a look at District 9, which in addition to being packed with aliens extends across Lake Erie from Toledo to the liberal Eastern suburbs of Cleveland, 130 miles long and in places maybe 3 miles wide - actually, in one place, the width of the bridge over Sandusky Bay. The 13th is basically a barbell with Akron on one end and Youngstown on the other. The 1st and 2nd split the City of Cincinnati in two, and the Cleveland suburbs are divided into 5 different district, 4 of which are dominantly rural. It is obvious from looking at the map; four rural districts reach up to Cleveland like snakeheads. This was done deliberately to create the maximum number of Republican districts and the fewest possible Democratic districts.

Mind you, this kind of thing is done by Democrats where they have the power to do so. I do not think either party should be allowed to do this. Redistricting should be independent of politics.

The District 9 joke was for you, bart. Hope you enjoyed it. I did manage to corral my inner 12 year old and resist all Fudge jokes.

So here is the Green New Deal as envisioned by AOC and revealed today.

“Upgrade or replace every building in US for state-of-the-art energy efficiency.”

The Green New Deal is “a 10-year plan to mobilize every aspect of American society at a scale not seen since World War 2 to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions.”

“It’s unclear if we will be able to decommission every nuclear plant within 10 years, but the plan is to transition off of nuclear and all fossil fuels as soon as possible.”

“Build out highspeed rail at a scale where air travel stops becoming necessary”.

“We believe the right way to capture carbon is to plant trees and restore our natural ecosystems. CCUS technology to date has not proven effective.”

“Ensure that all GND jobs are union jobs that pay prevailing wages and hire local.”

“We’re not ruling a carbon tax out, but a carbon tax would be a tiny part of a Green New Deal.”

“…Cap and trade may be a tiny part of the larger Green New Deal plan.”

How much will it cost?
No estimate of the total cost of implementing the Green New deal is offered by Ocasio-Cortez.

Nancy Pelosi had a serious MEH even before the plan was unveiled.

"It will be one of several or maybe many suggestions that we receive. The green dream, or whatever they call it, nobody knows what it is, but they're for it, right?"

What it is is Socialism on steroids.

What is socialism on steroids? Major league sports.

What else is socialism?

Social Security.
Well, no

I'll add "scintillating" to the list of words you don't know the meaning of.

Not a Bolton fan (despite his being a Maryland guy) but you have to feel sorry for someone who feels he has to say stuff like this.
