It seems what was considered radical in the 60s is now common place and generally adopted by the poulace as a whole.

But the nut-job right is fighting like to hell to push us back into the '50s. Or maybe the '20's.
 
The point seemed to be that Dems in general since FDR seemed to be the party pushing for social change. In the above example Medicare, while the Republicans have been the party fighting change.

It why one should always vote to ensure no republicans make it to federal office. In addition to being reactionary and authoritarian, the republican party is the nexus of organized crime in The United States.

While I aprpreciate and understand the sentiment and your characterization of the GOP is dead-on, we need at least 2 parties to keep the party in power sort of in check. Without the threat of a competing party, even if its a dog-shit bunch of spineless cowards and thiefs like the McConnell Graham crime family. Its that absolute power/corruption model.
