"I never had sex with that woman". He did but still was not impeached.
Yes he was you floundering oaf. Of course, that.was back when Republicans thought obstructing justice.was.a bad thing.

This is more about the starving and abused Latino children and their greedy relatives that the Donald is protecting us from? The presidential office needs some discretionary leeway.  He talked to Putin, isn't looking for peaceful solutions good? The precedence has been set, lose an election and throw an impeachment hissy fit.
It is worth noting several Republicans indicated in October of 2018 that they would support the impeachment of President Hilary Clinton.

Barely worth mentioning.

She deserved impeachment, after all! She's a Clinton.

Besides, sure they said it, but who can believe them? It was just talk.

And anyway, holding her responsible for things she did before she became president (even if they weren't illegal or she didn't do them) is fine, but doing that for President Trump is just being political!

Okay, Orwell wrote that in 1948, but in a book called 1984. But besides that, it's a good point.

The biggest takeaway from Robert Mueller's appearances on Capitol Hill is not that Donald Trump may have obstructed justice, although that's what most people continue to argue about.

It's that Russians are still interfering in US elections.

"They're doing it as we sit here," Mueller told lawmakers of Russian interference. Earlier he'd said how that aspect of his investigation has been underplayed will have a long-term effect on the US.

In his report, the former special counsel disclosed that Russian hackers compromised local election systems of two Florida counties in 2016, a development later confirmed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, although he said no votes were changed. And while Mueller did not bring conspiracy charges, it's been well documented that Russians in 2016 were doing their best to help Trump, not Clinton, win.

But the president needs some leeway.

What slander against Omar asks REDSTATEWARD.

This slander:

The most avid liar has been Vice President Mike Pence. In a CBS News interview that aired on Sunday, Pence claimed that Ocasio-Cortez “said this country was garbage” and was “referring to our country as garbage.” He also accused Omar of vicious statements “about the Jewish people in this country”—specifically, a “reference to evil Jews.” Trump made the same allegation on July 19 at the White House: “They can’t talk about ‘evil Jews,’ which is what they say: ‘evil Jews.’ ”

That’s pure fiction. Omar has never used the phrase “evil Jews.” She has never said anything bad about Judaism or Jewish people. She has criticized some Israeli policies but has always taken care, in her words, “to distinguish between criticizing a military action by a government and attacking a particular people of faith.” She has consistently argued that no one should be targeted or disparaged on the basis of religion. Trump, Pence, and the RNC have ignored these statements. They have stuffed the words evil Jews in her mouth.

This is vile. It’s different from spin, which is based on dueling interpretations of facts. It’s also different from the political falsehoods of the past, which were surrendered in the face of evidence. When President George W. Bush found no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, he admitted he was wrong. That ethic is gone. Trump has installed an authoritarian culture of raw disinformation, and his party has bought into it. Republicans are fabricating quotes, ignoring corrections, and disregarding the whole idea of truth.

In this case, it’s worth asking why they have to lie so hard—and why they’ve chosen these particular lies. The answers are telling. Republicans had to invent fake quotes because in real life, nothing the congresswomen have said or done justifies Trump’s tweets. And Republicans chose these particular fictions—bashing “evil Jews,” glorifying al-Qaida, dismissing America as garbage—because those are the smears they thought they could pin on people named Omar and Ocasio-Cortez. In covering for Trump’s racism, his apologists have exposed their own.

Covering for the blatant racism of their "President" with dangerous xenophobic lies about their colleagues in Congress...If you can think of a way an elected member of government can act more shamefully I'd like to hear it (outside of just about everything Trump has done...)

So, let the Senate do that job this time, too, Luee:

Article I charged that Clinton lied to the grand jury concerning:[22]

the nature and details of his relationship with Lewinsky
prior false statements he made in the Jones deposition
prior false statements he allowed his lawyer to make characterizing Lewinsky's affidavit
his attempts to tamper with witnesses
Article III charged Clinton with attempting to obstruct justice in the Jones case by:[23]

encouraging Lewinsky to file a false affidavit
encouraging Lewinsky to give false testimony if and when she was called to testify
concealing gifts he had given to Lewinsky that had been subpoenaed
attempting to secure a job for Lewinsky to influence her testimony
permitting his lawyer to make false statements characterizing Lewinsky's affidavit
attempting to tamper with the possible testimony of his secretary Betty Curie
making false and misleading statements to potential grand jury witnesses

Do you think the charges against Trump are less serious?

Don't you love rightwing trolls?  They keep everyone busy hauling around facts while their bullshit spigots continually spew.  While you may reasonably think that nothing you post will change their beliefs or allegiance to the Cult, you feel the need to keep putting out the bullshit fires lest impressionable eyes fall on the message board and think it's all unchallenged truth.

And of course there's the "sea lion" approach, where the troll, rather than asserting something outrageous, slyly frames it as an innocent question.  "I'm just trying to understand," says the sea lion, after the sea lion has posed thousands of bullshit questions that work to cast a shadow of doubt on the bloody fucking obvious....gradually wearing everyone down until they give up even bothering to reply.

Yes the illegals and their supporters would be dancing in the streets of gold. The Jihad community would be so overjoyed they would blow up a major landmark or two.

Do you think the charges against Trump are less serious?

Assuming those charges above have merit to start with.

Has to be said how Trump (and his Republican defenders) are now benefiting enormously from the difference in these investigations; Clinton's was a political hit-job born of a right-wing fever dream and run by a partisan warrior.  The conclusions of the Mueller report prove the merit of the concerns that led to it, and Mueller himself has bent over backwards to an almost absurd degree to be impartial and fair.

Also, what is with Mueller saying that he did not fight for an in-person deposition of Trump because it would have prolonged his investigation even after he admitted that the written response was incomplete and rife with lies?  Starr gets four years, but after two Mueller needs to wrap up before collecting all the evidence he needs?

Reno was a law enforcement officer. Barr is a co-conspirator. Starr was appointed as an independent counsel, Mueller as a far more limited special counsel. Starr was a rabid weasel. Mueller is a republican who investigated so called republicans, and was reluctant to hurt his own people. Starr was happy to sink the country to bolster his reputation as the no. 1 witch hunter.

Yes the illegals and their supporters would be dancing in the streets of gold. The Jihad community would be so overjoyed they would blow up a major landmark or two.

If by “illegals and their supporters” you mean the trump family and their cult, and by “the jihad community” you mean right wing white supremacists, and if by “major landmark or two” you are including the Holocaust Museum and The Statue of Liberty,  this is your most on point post in years.

Cortez's "garbage" statement sort of like when Trump used "shithole" and was then misrepresented.

Shoe is on the other foot now, ain't it?

impeached but not convicted or removed.

That is the American process.

Similar would happen if House were to decide to (and get the votes to) impeach President Trump.
