"Since 2016, 381 cops have been killed in the line of duty. They believed in something and sacrificed everything as did the families they left behind. All of the men and women in law enforcement believe in something and are prepared to sacrifice everything"

I think the number is screwy unless the meaning is changed to "from Jan 1, 2016," and even then I am pretty skeptical of that 381.

This is not to say that that the police do not believe in something and, honestly, their sacrifices are far greater than the sum of the lives. I appreciate that there lives are on the line. I wish more of them appreciated that it is not just their lives on the line.

But as a rebuttal to Nike and Kaepernick. it's weak sauce.

Pence is using the NYTimes to get polling done on removing trump via the 25th Amendment. He’s hoping the numbers exceed impeachment, which is currently favored by a majority who hold opinions. He’s doing this prior to midterms and lining it up with Woodward’s book to bolster the case. A man who brought a personal AIDS epidemic to Indiana is finally having a similar effect on the republican power structure within the Federal Government.

Facility,  the scary thing is we may actually have to depend on these anonymous self-anointing heroes of Democracy to survive the next two years and 138 days.   Pence isn't going to get any real 25th action going.  Everyone's too afraid of shrapnel flying from a constitutional crisis.

So, Pence is Fletcher Christian?

Drama

https://twitter.com/MichaelCBender/status/1037484956824612864

Inside the West Wing, aides canceled meetings & huddled behind closed doors to strategize about how to expose the author. Some called reporters to ask who may be behind the op-ed — whether it came from inside the White House or a cabinet-level agency.

Nice.

He can see that BOTH sides are weak.

If only the folks in office believed in the Bill of Rights beyond as a matter of convenience for them.

And this is beyond stone throwers and your inability to recognize it or your refusal to admit it, whichever, is part of the national problem.

One of the key phrases you skipped in your "defense" of what is going on in that White House is that those things that you think are wonderful got done in spite of Trump, in the anonymous writer's opinion.

And that the author cannot recognize the damage done by the policies being lauded are part of what is likely to remain a tragedy for longer than this administration is in power.

Democrats right now:
Can't stop Kavanaugh
Can't stop Trump from declassifying anything.
Can't stop ANYTHING.

How do you feel about having an unindicted alleged co-conspirator president under federal investigation, whose staff works to keep from destroying the country and thinks has gone round the bend, naming for life a jurist who will have the power to determine if that president can pardon himself?

I know that it represents far greater peril than any bullshit McConnell was spouting about the SCOTUS seat he blocked Obama from filling.

You? You probably applaud it while pretending this is business as usual.

I dont think the new court will change much

Even the Roe vs Waders are in error.  I dont see that overturned with Kavanaugh in.

National security interests are more important to me.  The new justice could help out in that area.

kid appears to be celebrating a dangerous, inept and crazed child-President and those are the descriptions of his hand-chosen insiders, and a President who is continuing to make decisions that could impact every person on this planet.

He is also a likely felon, compromised Russian puppet and a traitor.

The NYT's op-ed piece seems to verify the Woodward book and that this disaster of a felon President should probably be removed from office.

But the way to do it is by Congressional oversight, not a White House cabal.

Its dangerous and fucked up.

kid is right Dems alone can't stop the decline and fall of America.

Where the fuck are the Congressional Republicans who have sworn to preserve, protect and defend the country and constitution?

I fear they're addicted to Koch and Russian hos.
